Layout and Design services

Mote Oo Education has a layout and design service that is aimed specifically at Myanmar’s NGO and development sector and at providers of educational services and materials.

Since 2016, we have worked with multiple partners to create stylish organisational newsletters, report layouts, training resources and handbooks, informational brochures and other materials in English and Myanmar.

LET'S THINK, LET'S CHANGE

Search for Common Ground contracted Mote Oo to develop a Facilitator's Guide for their 'Let's Think Let's Change' youth radio show.

The show, in 12 episodes, discusses various topics such as sports, stereotypes, jobs, LGBT issues and domestic violence.

Mote Oo developed sets of preview, comprehension, application and reflection questions and example answers to accompany each episode, so teachers and youth workers can facilitate a more in-depth encounter with the radio programmes.

EARTHRIGHTS INTERNATIONAL

Earthrights are working with rural communities on land rights issues. They wanted manuals that are easily accessible by people affected by these issues.

ERI's lawyers provided the content, and Mote Oo staff made it into training materials, with clear explanations, pictures and infographics of relevant laws and processes.

Mote Oo then delivered a training or trainers to ERI staff on how to use the material effectively.

Myanmar Community Academies Programme

MCAP are a network of post-secondary schools In Hpa-an, Loikaw, Myitkyona and Taunggyi with a social science, community development and service learning focus. Mote Oo has worked with them on curriculum development since 2013. 

This involves ongong needs assessment, regular subject-specific meetings with all suject teachers to design, trial, update and evaluate new curriculum and training workshops for teachers on course delivery. Mote Oo have also designed coursebooks - ASEAN, Learning Skills, research skills and Ethical Leadership - specifically to the needs of MCAP teachers and students. These are used widely throughout similar schools and organisations in Myanmar.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE OF BURMA (WLB)

For more than fifteen years, the Women’s League of Burma (WLB) has been dedicated to promoting the inclusion and participation of women in democracy, human rights, peace and reconciliation in Burma.

Each year, the organization brings together representatives from each of its community-based member groups for an intensive month-long training on current political issues.

In 2015, the focus for this course was Women and Peace Focal Points, looking at issues of gender, security, active citizenship, human rights and peace building. The WLB asked Mote Oo for a resource person to lead the process of course design and curriculum development. The resulting course outline, themes and materials were be kept and adapted by the Women’s League of Burma and Mote Oo for future similar trainings.
